Blue Ox Style Notes

(1) Requires Some Drilling (Not Major).
(5) May Require Notching A Belly Pan On Some Models.
(9) Requires Small Notches In Air Dam. Small Lower Air Dam On Honda Civic Sport Models Must Also Be Removed.
(12) The Air Dam (Lower) Part Of The Plastic Bumper Cover On The '87-'89 Topaz & '89 Tempo Must Have Two Short Slices Put On Either Side Of It & Will Be Compressed Vertically About 2 Inches.
(20) Requires a Class III Tow Bar.
(27) The '93-'95 Sable requires cutting in lower bumper which will show and hinder the appearance of the installation. This is not true for the Taurus application.
(38) Bumper must be completely removed and replaced during installation.

Duncan Notes

(1) Part Number for kit to install DM7424 bracket on newer cars with plastic bumper is DM0088.
(13) Some drilling required.
(14) Belly pan around the tie down brackets must be notched.
(15) Belly pan must be notched.
(21) Requires a Class III Tow Bar.

Terminology

W.T.--Weights include boxing, subtract 1-2 lbs. for installation weight. Weights may vary 1-2 lbs. due to packaging variations.

I.R.--(Installation Rating) is a rough measure of the time required for baseplate or bracket installation by a skilled mechanic. #1 being the easiest and #5 the most difficult.

GRP--Group numbers refer to relative price categories. "I" being the least expensive and "V" being the most expensive for the Blue Ox baseplates. "A" being the least expensive and "C" being the most expensive for the speedometer disconnects. Note: Group numbers do not refer to Duncan brackets. (They are all the same price)

RNK--Indicates the popularity of each baseplate or bracket based on sales history. Only the top 75 are ranked.

N--An "N" appearing in the "RNK" column signifies that the baseplate or bracket is new and may be increasing in popularity.

SO--An "SO" appearing in the "RNK" column signifies that the baseplate, bracket or speedometer disconnect is available by special order only. They are subject to obsoletion based on future sales activity. (Call for availability).

DN--Indicates that a speedometer disconnect is not needed to keep miles from accumulating on the towed vehicle. Usually because the speedometer is electrical.

R--Indicates the receiver type Duncan brackets. (Brackets that are removable when not in use).
